Heritage Language Intern Position Survey

The Gallup-McKinley County Schools will have 5 Heritage Language Intern positions in school year 2021-2022. These positions will start as educational assistants working in the classroom of a current GMCS Heritage Language Teacher. Each Heritage Language Intern will be provided support, professional development and training with the goal of becoming a licensed 520 Teacher within 2 school years.

School Calendar

Gallup McKinley County Schools has reached a tentative agreement with the Union on the 2021/2022 school year calendar. The Union has notified the District that they will be taking the calendar for approval to their membership on June 19, 2021. Once the Union approves the calendar, the Gallup McKinley County Board of Education will meet to finalize the calendar.

GMCS Summer Hour Schedule

Starting on June 28, 2021 our hours will be 7:30-5:30
We will be working 4 day weeks. Please see the schedule for the days we will be closed.

Emergency Broadband Benefit

The Federal Communications Commission has launched a temporary program to help families and households struggling to afford Internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Emergency Broadband Benefit provides a discount of up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers.
Eligible households can enroll through a participating broadband provider or directly with the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) using an online or mail in application.
